There many techniques available for treating infertility,
starting from simple intrauterine insemination to complex techniques with a
single sperm. The doctors will decide after investigations as to what treatments
are required. Micro-fertilization processes benefits the male while egg donation
which allows the woman pregnancy and child birth which allows the man to be the
biological father of the child.
Like surgery, fertility drugs often proves as an effective treatment. There are
many instances wherein patients who have undergone treatment with fertility
drugs or surgery have got children. Drugs for infertility regulate the reproductive
hormones and helps in the release of eggs per ovulation cycle.
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) involves fertilization of the egg
taking place outside the body (in a laboratory) followed by implantation into
the woman’s uterus. This process is commonly known as test tube baby. Artificial
Insemination is used when sometimes some couples find it difficult to bring the
sperm and egg together after producing. It helps in bringing the sperms and egg
together for the run.
Gamete Intra-Fallopian Transfer is a process in which the mans
sperm and the women eggs are placed in a dish so that fertilization takes in the
body. Zygote Intra-Fallopian Transfer is a process where newly fertilized eggs
are transferred into the women fallopian tubes. Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection
is a process where the low sperm count of the man is injected directly into the
centre of the egg.
